Trash the Dress

Todd I were married a little over eight years ago in Healdsburg on a lovely July evening.  Everything was perfect about that day except our pictures.  None of them captured anything fun and many of them were in black and white.  I decided it was time to bust out the wedding dress and do a photo shoot that was more adventurous.  If you google "trash the dress" you will find people who jump in the ocean, roll in mud, and go paint balling in their beautiful gown.  This isn't what I had in mind. I just wanted pictures of us together somewhere in Sacramento having fun.
The afternoon started out with me getting my hair done at our house followed by makeup. I have never had fake eyelashes put on and it made me feel super sexy.  Todd and I drove over to Old Sac in his Model A and we felt like we were off to our wedding.  When we got out of the car in Old town everyone assumed we had just been married and wished us luck or I should say Todd luck! Ha!  Taking pictures was a blast. Playing on the swings, laying on the train tracks, running across the bridge, posing in Todd's car, and laying in the grass were some of the fun poses.

Todd's Model A that he rebuilt. He is just a little proud of it.

After the photoshoot we decided to go to sushi in Sacramento in our wedding attire.  When we walked in people were wishing us the best and making a big deal about us being there.  We explained to our waitress what we were up to and she said she knew we hadn't just been married because having our camera gave it away.  Hmm.. really?  Didn't know that was a dead give away.  She was sweet and snapped a pic of us. The lady you see behind us bought me a drink saying congrats. We were too embarrassed to tell her we really didn't just get married! Thanks for the appletini!

After sushi we headed over to Rick's desserts which is an
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G dessert shop. A little 50s diner with desserts as big as your head. No joke.

We headed home when we knew the kids would be fast asleep thanks to our awesome babysitter.  The night was perfect.  I think every couple should do this.  Even if the dress doesn't fit go find a cheap one. It will turn out to be one of your best dates with your hubby ever.  I promise.
