Tomorrow's V-Day

Tuesdays I go grocery shopping.  Therefore on Mondays I usually don't have a lot of food in the house.  The kids got lucky today and got to have lunch at Chick-fil-a in the car.  They prefer to go through the drive-thru which is what we did.  Chicken nuggets and milk.  Their favorite.

My mom is so thoughtful and sweet. She always sends the kids little Valentines presents through the mail that they love to open.  Shirts, sweetheart candies, and little toys were inside. The kids loved everything Mom.  Thank you!

I had fun making Valentine cookies for the twins preschool class. Unfortunately the twins weren't interested in helping so it was all me which really made everything go a lot faster! Ha!

Valentine M and M cookies. Yum and Yum.

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Valentine M&Ms

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the corn syrup, water, and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture. Fold in chocolate chunks. Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 3 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are golden. Allow cookies to cool for 1 minute on the cookie sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

These cookies turned out delicious!  I slipped them into CD sleeves and wrapped them in twine with a heart punch out and Valentine greeting.  I stole the idea off of eighteen25 blog. I love this blog and have a link to their site over on the right hand side.

The kids are obsessed with mailboxes.  I decided to put a Valentines Day note inside of a mailbox and have it waiting for them tomorrow morning.  (stole this idea too!) I bought the mailboxes for a $1 at Target and used epoxy to glue the mailboxes to candlestick holders.  I cut out their initials in paper and hot glued them on.  M and M's are in the little colored square bowls.

I hope you have a wonderful Valentines Day tomorrow!
