Third Progressive Dinner

Our third Neighborhood Progressive Dinner was last night.  It was awesome.  The theme was Hawaiian and flowers, tropical drinks, and leis were everywhere.  Four houses we stopped at through out the evening.  Apps, Salad, Main Course, and Dessert.  I love that this fun dinner is becoming a tradition through out the year. The company and food is always fab.

Our house was the last stop. We served pina colada cupcakes and mai tais.  Delish.  We all sat outside wrapped in blankets enjoying the fire in our firepit. For it being the end of August the evening weather was quite chilly.  Perfect weather for a fire though.

Can't wait for the next one!

Sweet Little Olivia

Remember this pretty mama?

She had her sweet baby girl and I was able to photograph baby Olivia at 10 days old

Can't wait to see her again at three months old!

Preschool for the Wee One

My baby started three years old preschool today.  I truly can't believe it.  He goes two days a week from 9 to 2.  He has been so excited for school since the last two years he has watched the twins go to preschool.  Finally his turn.

Weston's preschool is the same preschool the twins went to the last two years.  LOVE this preschool and am so glad we have another two years here.

He loved finding his spot for his backpack, lunch, and sharing bag.

He settled right in with two other boys playing trucks.  No tears at all.  I hugged and kissed him and held back my tears.  My baby

I do have to say the two kid free hours I will get twice a week I am going to truly enjoy though.

Amazing how fast time goes when you have little ones.

Kindergarten

August 16th.  First Day of Kindergarten.  I have to say that the whole get out of the house by 7:45 am is going to be a challenge.  I may have to change my night owl ways.

We made it out the door on time and were even able to capture some fun pictures before heading down the street to school.

Walking to school with friends.  What could be better?

Seeing familiar faces at school definitely helps make the day more fun.

The twins felt right at home.

A smiling face when you have to say goodbye makes it much easier to leave.

Weston and I walking to pick up the twins.
Today was a great day.  The twins are excited about their teachers, new friends, and all the fun things that Kindergartners get to experience.

Heading to School

August 16th the twins have their first day of Kindergarten.  I really can't believe it.  We have arrived at elementary school.  Wasn't it just yesterday I was bringing them home from the hospital?  They are ready for K and couldn't be more excited.  They will be in the same class together and I wouldn't have it any other way.  They are best buds and do well together in class. Their school is right down the street so we will be able to walk to school every day.

A couple things about this photo shoot.  Makenna got tired 5 minutes into it.  It was hot.  My little three year old wanted to be in every picture. I had to bribe him with gum.  Note to self.  Don't let your subjects you are taking pictures of chew gum. Especially five year olds. They just may look like they are chewing gum in every photo.

We found these glasses at Target and Makenna had to have them.  Someone wants to be like her mama.

Both of them are so curious for what Kindergarten has in store.  Excited to see what this year brings.

Camping up in Tahoe

I like camping.  I love the cooler weather in the mountains and being huddled up around the campfire roasting marshmallows and telling stories.  My kids love playing all day outdoors getting dirty.  When I do go camping though I must have a comfortable air mattress to sleep on and running water along with an available hot shower.  Just a few requirements to roughing it in the great outdoors.
We drove up to Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe for the weekend and had a great time.  Three families = Six adults and 10 adults.   I loved leaving the 100+ weather in Sacramento for 80 weather in Tahoe. Perfect.

Lake Tahoe was gorgeous and we enjoyed the sun all day long on Saturday.

How great is this wine bottle?

I love that Landon learned how to ride a bike during this weekend.

Lots of laughs this weekend around the campfire.  Thankful for friends.
