Have I said before that I love this time of year? Well if you haven't heard me say it before let it be known that I just love this time of year. The food, the weather, the activities, the music, and the memories that are made.
Before we headed out of town the day before Thanksgiving, we attended Weston's Stone Soup at his Preschool. Adorable. Mama's little monkey. The whole school had a parade and then we went and enjoyed a delicious Stone Soup lunch.
We headed to Santa Rosa after Stone Soup and traveled with all the other travelers which delayed our arrival by one hour. Oh and also stopping to snap pictures in the gorgeous light may have delayed us a tad.
Missing two teeth!
Thanksgiving morning we went to Cardinal Newman where my brother and sister in law set up a fun race for the kids. It was so fun and one the kids won't forget.
My mom hosted Thanksgiving for all of us and it was wonderful. I love this group so much.
Four generations. Doesn't my grandmother look amazing for 85?! Incredible! I remind Makenna how lucky she is to know her Grandmother and Greatgrandmother.
These two tall boys are some of my favorite guys! We have the best laughs together. I am so thankful for my brothers.
Thanksgiving was delicious and I was too busy visiting and eating to snap pictures. I did get one of this adorable turkey.
I do have one tip about making pumpkin pie. When it calls for whole milk, use whole milk, Just saying.
My two grandmothers.
Friday morning we headed out to the airport to snap some pictures of my Dad's plane and the grandkids. The weather was gorgeous.
Makenna and Carolina. Cousins and the best of friends. I love their relationship.
My Dad loves flying and has been since he was fifteen.
After a great lunch we headed to bowling. Kids loved it.
A tradition we have when we are in Santa Rosa is going to Healdsburg the Friday after Thanksgiving to see Santa. Such fun. The kids were so excited to tell Santa what they wanted.
And I mean really? No one is ever to old to sit on Santa's lap right?
Delicious dinner at Mary's Pizza Shack with the whole crew. Quite a large group!
On Saturday afternoon we headed back home after two of my photo shoots and some fun at Scandia. Awesome weekend and just as great as I had hoped. Thankful for an awesome family.
We always get our tree the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We headed out to Sloughhouse to cut one down.
A home decorated for Christmas is just cozy.
Today at church we were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas. It is so easy to feel anxious in the hustle and bustle of the time of year. Yes, we have fun activities planned for the kids and are going to have Mr. Elf visit our home but I really want to focus on why we are celebrating Christmas. I love this ornament. It is one of my favorites. Jesus is the reason for the season.
Thanks to my friend Sharlene who pinned this printable, I pinned it too. Love it. Check out Michelle Ravencroft on Pinterest and look under my Christmas board.
Such a great five days and feeling so grateful. Looking forward to the next 31 days as we prepare for Christmas and create memories with family and friends.
