Four and a Half

Weston turned four a half today.  I knew we wouldn't have a party because we went to Legoland last week.  There was no way though that Weston would let us forget today was his day. We went and saw The Smurfs with friends and then decided on picking up sandwiches to eat at a park in Folsom.  While in Raley's we decided to get a big ole cake along with candles, napkins, plates, and a lighter.  It was perfect. No need to worry about this boy feeling sad about having a December birthday.

We ran out of time today but tomorrow he will be able to pick out one big toy at Toys R Us.  He is excited.

The kids had a blast letting boats float down the little river at the park. Highlight of the day!

Fun day!

Stone and Zoe

I have been in twin heaven lately.  So many sweet pairs gracing my lens lately.  I was excited about taking pics of a boy/girl pair.

Love their room.

Big four year old brother Mason.

Meet Stone and Zoe.

Are these not just the best cheeks??!!

Mama and her babies.

Such a great time meeting this family. Too sweet and adorable.  I can't wait to see Zoe and Stone again and through the year.

Turning One

These sweet twin girls turned one and we had a photoshoot to celebrate!
We met in West Sacramento so Daddy could join us on his work break.  It worked out great.

Too sweet.

Happy 1st birthday Madelyn and Makayla!

Rub and Dub Dub. Three Kids in the Tub.

My babies. All in the bath together.  These all the in tub days are fleeting. They are just getting too big.  Makes me sad. I just had to capture their sweet faces tonight.  Love them so.

Legoland/Carlsbad Vacay

I really love vacation.  Planning, anticipating, packing for it, and enjoying it are all things I enjoy!  This was our first vacation with just the five of us.  Kids are getting bigger and we don't need help to make our vacation enjoyable.  We don't even need a stroller.  Bittersweet!  We settled on a four day getaway to Legoland/Carlsbad.  It was a quick getaway but a trip packed full of fun and chocked full of forever memories.

We left early Thursday morning and headed south.  I had copied off lots of fun road trip activities for the kids to do and that truly helped pass the eight hour trip.  I have to admit the Ipad helped too.

We arrived at our resort and loved how we had a glimpse of the Pacific along with how close we were to Legoland.

Toothless twins.

We dined at the Chart House in Cardiff and the kids enjoyed their first Shirley Temple.  The beach was right outside the restaurant and so we couldn't resist some toe dipping after dinner.

Happy 35th to me!

They giggled and squealed while the waves chased them.  This was their first experience at a Southern California beach.  They loved it.

(thankful to the runner on the beach who offered to take this pic of us)

After a restful night we set out for Legoland.  What a great time we had.  I heard some negative things about Legoland which I felt weren't true during our trip. The park was clean, the kids weren't bored, and we could have done two days there.  So much to see and too little time.

Day three we spent at an awesome beach in Encinitas at Moonlight Beach. Incredible.   We had the exact beach experience I was hoping for.  Southern California beaches are so awesome. Warm and gorgeous.

So much fun flying a kite.

Kids loved building sandcastles and catching crabs!

Mesmerized by the bubble lady.

Heading home

I am so glad we were able to get away and go to a place we had never been. I am sad the kids aren't babies anymore but feeling excited about the doors that are opening to allow us to do more things together as a family.  Look out world here we come!

I highly recommend Legoland to anyone who has small children. You won't be disappointed.
