1st Grade and 1st Day Racing

Today was the first day of first grade for Landon and Makenna. They were quite excited!! Three recesses, big desks, big kid playground, and lunch in the cafeteria makes this whole school thing feel a lot more real.

Twins!  Her friend has great taste in clothes!  :)
First assignment: Draw a picture.
After leaving the twins, Weston and I made our walk home. He collected quite a few acorns.

They had a great first day.  I think it is going to be a great year!
After school and a snack we headed out to Prairie City for Landon's first quarter midget training on the race track.  He had to start off training with a trainer helping him with driving the car. After several laps around the trainer thought he would do well driving the car himself. He did awesome! He had to learn what all the flags meant and he even remembered what they meant while he was driving around the track.

Landon didn't mind one bit that his wrists had to be handcuffed for safety.  Helmet, gloves, handcuffed wrists, neck brace, long sleeves, jeans, boots, 95 degrees and he still loved it.

Black flag!  Landon remembered it meant to stop by the little house on the race track. Smart boy. Trainers told us to start looking for a car for Landon. He is quite excited!
What a great day!
